Live Earth Pledge

Growing concern among nations over the issue of climate change has resulted in adoption of the Live Earth Pledge. This pledge basically requests participating nations to formulate for protection of the environment. This pledge is also referred to as the Seven Point Pledge.

Live Earth is a benefit concert held across the world. Started by Al Gore, these concerts are basically held in order to create awareness on global warming. There are 7 points which countries and its people are requested to pledge in these concerts. The 7 Live Earth Pledge includes:

1. Countries will have to sign an international treaty on reduction of global warming by 90%.
2. Countries will be carbon neutral as far as possible.
3. A Moratorium needs to be set up in places which do not have the facility to trap CO2.
4. Signees of the pledge will bring about an increase in energy efficiency of their schools, office, modes of transportation, homes and other places.
5. Formulation of policies and laws that will increase usage of renewable energy resources and bring about a reduction on the use of fossil fuels.
6. Signees of the pledge will protect forests and plant new trees
7. Supporters of this pledge will do business with those business houses who are interested in solving the issue of climate change.

Live Earth Pledge is presented in the Live Earth Concert. This pledge not only requires the government, but also people
