The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change constituency is made of member countries of WMO and UNEP who accept, approve and adopt IPCC work programs and review IPCC Reports.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is a scientific was set up by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Aim of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change:
The IPCC was aimed at providing the decision-makers and climate change researchers with a reliable and objective source of information non climate change. The role of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is to assess climate changes on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis, which includes the latest scientific, technical and socio-economic literature produced worldwide and is relevant to the understanding of the risk of human-induced climate change. IPCC reports are neutral and deal with policies pertaining to scientific, technical and socio economic factors and are of high scientific and technical standards, and are aimed at reflecting a variety of views, expertise and wide geographical coverage.
Meetings and Programs of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change:
The IPCC organizes several meetings which include plenary sessions of the IPCC and IPCC Working Groups. These meetings are attended by representatives from governments and participating organizations, sessions of the IPCC Bureau, the Task Force Bureau and any task group set up by the Panel, as well as workshops, scoping and other expert meetings, and meetings of lead authors involved in preparing an IPCC report. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is open to all member nations of WMO and UNEP, whose governments can take part in plenary sessions. Important decisions regarding the IPCC work program are taken in these sessions. Meetings are organized by the IPCC co-sponsors to support the assessment process, to disseminate its results and enhance interaction with scientists and users.
