History
Camco international has made a name for itself in the carbon credit market. It is recognized as a pioneering example throughout the world together with sustainable development projects like ESD.
ESD is recognized as a world leader in the industry. In 1999 ESD became one of the 12 founding members of emission trading of UK. In 2003 Camco was established. The growth of Camco since is inception; is evident in the recognition it got, for handling various projects. In 2007 Camco was recognized as the best project developer by a market survey. The year also saw Camco finishing one of CDM's (Clean Development Mechanism) largest carbon credit deal. The merger of ESD and Camco also took place in the same year.
Achievements
- In 2007 Camco international was recognized as “Carbon Project Developer of the Year” by 'Point Carbon.' It was credited once more with the same title, the following year.
- In 2007, the Environment Finance magazine credited Camco with the 'Carbon Transaction of the Year' award for developing the largest clean energy.
- The Environmental Data Service magazine (ENDS) listed Camco in its “Top 30 Quality Offset Providers Worldwide” list.
