|
Individual and Political Action on Climate Change addresses the issue of drastic effect of political, individual, organizational on climatic changes at an alarming rate. It also focuses on reducing global warming.
People across the nations have become increasingly aware of the significance of climate change as a factor. Many issues like economic, social and environmental are related with climatic changes. Hence, the varied forms of individual and political action on climate changes stress on to reduce and limit the greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the environment. In fact, this has become an important issue of concern and ultimate goal around the world.
Numerous groups and protest movements are joining hands to look into the issue of climate change. Around September 2005, a movement called Stop Climate Chaos was initiated in Britain to address the issue climate change. It is a coalition of about fifty non-government organizations. Yet another group called the Campaign against Climate Changes was appointed to pressurize governments to concentrate on climate changes and global warming.
In almost all the countries, an event is monthly held on the last Friday called Critical Mass. Founded and initiated in San Francisco, the event was conceived as a protest activity. It began with a purpose to familiarize people with several social issues. During this occurrence, skateboarders, cyclists, roller skaters, inline skaters and unicyclists go on rides on the streets.
Many political actions are also taken relating to climate change. Several rules and regulations are either modified or changed entirely to reduce the environmental pollution. Limiting the greenhouse gas emissions, revised tax incentives or devising regulations wherein trading markets can operate are some of the initiatives taken. Moreover, political actions gain media coverage which creates awareness among common masses.
