Hot gases are emitted by turbines as a consequence of this process and they are normally sent to heat-recovery steam generators. Thus steam is produced for using in manufacturing processes.

Cogeneration has enabled them to create more than sufficient electricity at certain locations and thus sell the additional electricity to other corporations and make profits.
Since, cogeneration requires lesser fuel, they are able to adhere to international standards of environmental protection. This has meant that less greenhouse gases have been emitted, which has resulted in lesser pollution.
